SNOW Magazine is pleased to announce the appointment of Meredith Ogilvie-Thompson as its new Editor-in-Chief. Ogilvie-Thompson has worked in both documentary and feature film, and her work has appeared in Vogue, Porter, The Telegraph, the Financial Times, and Business Day, among others. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and was a founding director and currently serves on the advisory board of Big Life Foundation.
“Meredith’s love for the alpine world, combined with her expertise in the business of luxury, background in conservation, and passion for the environment, will bring a lot to the magazine,” said Barb Sanders, publisher of SNOW and founder of media content creative company, SNOW Productions.
Ogilvie-Thompson, whose first issue at the helm of the bi-annual magazine will be published in October, said she is looking forward to shining a light on the extraordinary leadership within the ski industry and associated luxury brands.
“Though I’ve always been passionate about skiing, it’s been really interesting connecting with people in the industry,” said Ogilvie-Thompson. “Resort management, brand executives, athletes – their commitment to the sport, from product performance to consumer experience to environmental management – is really inspiring.”
SNOW’s High Season 2020 issue will celebrate the brands leading the industry via best practices and giving back, from B Corp ski areas, to LEED-certified luxury ski hotels, to trackable sourcing, up-cycled fabrics, and more.
“Having worked with Meredith for years as a writer, I have tremendous confidence in her ability,” said Sanders. “I’m excited to have her on board the magazine.”
Sanders added that she’s also excited about this year’s fashion editorial, which will be shot in Innsbruck, Austria by top photographer Antonio Cordero and stylist John Martinez, along with the SNOW team. Showcasing the most glamorous and technical ski and après ski wear for the 2019/20 season, the shoot will take place in and around the Nordkette, which links the city to the mountaintops and features stations designed by world famous architect Zaha Hadid, is one of the most unique destinations in the alpine world, and a stunning backdrop for SNOW’s fabulous winter and ski fashion brands.
As always, SNOW fans can look forward to great editorial by our team of award-winning writers, including Leslie Woit, Tim Neville, Leslie Anthony, Jay Cowan, Mattias Fredriksson, and Pulitzer Prize winner David Shribman, among others.
