Heli Skiing Canada

Canada offers world class heli experiences and is considered some of the best in the world. There is a variety of terrain options ranging from long wide open glaciers to steep narrow trees. Canada is also famous for its "pillow drops" where the skier drops from one mushroom of snow to another.

Canada has a large number of heli skiing operations across British Columbia and Alberta. The pioneers in Canada were Hans Gmoser and Mike Wiegele both from Austria. Hans Gmoser founded CMH or Canadian Mountain Holidays Heli Ski and Mike Wiegele founded Mike Wiegele Heli Skiing. Both offer group and private heli skiing opportunities at either a rustic lodge or a super luxurious lodge such as Albreda at Mike Wiegele Heli Skiing.

Bella Coola is on the west coast of Canada and is a great heli destination for expert skiers.
