Thursday, June 19th, The St. Regis Aspen Resort gathered celebrated Chefs, Sommeliers, and Luminaires to Saber 120 bottles of champagne in 120 seconds!
Marking the St. Regis brand’s milestone 120th anniversary, The St. Regis Aspen Resort kicked off the annual FOOD & WINE Classic weekend with an extraordinary spectacle: ‘The St. Regis Grand Sabrage.’ This dramatic celebration challenged participants to saber 120 bottles of Champagne Telmont in just 120 seconds, creating a magnificent and sparkling tribute to over a century of luxury hospitality.
Sabering participants included acclaimed chefs Andrew Zimmern, Nyesha Arrington, Tiffany Derry, and Camari Mick, master sommelier Bobby Stuckey, wine expert and influencer Amanda McCrossin, Colorado food personality Kip Wilson, Aspen Mayor Rachel Richards, and acclaimed writers Prairie Rose and Julia Coney.
This esteemed group not only accomplished the challenge of sabering 120 bottles under 120 seconds, but they actually accomplished the goal in less than 50 seconds!
Celebrating the brand’s storied legacy, The St. Regis Aspen Resort hosted this one-of-a-kind event against the breathtaking backdrop of Aspen Mountain. The Grand Sabrage challenge seamlessly transitioned into an indulgent tasting experience, where Champagne Telmont flowed freely alongside Oysters XO and Petrosian Caviar.
At The St. Regis Aspen Resort, champagne is more than a celebratory gesture; it is a defining ritual. For those unable to attend the St. Regis Grand Sabrage, The Resort offers bespoke ways to savor the tradition, including an exceptional selection of champagnes by the glass and its signature daily sabering ceremony, an homage to the legacy and spirit of this timeless beverage.
