“It’s snowing in Portillo” has been a common refrain on snow enthusiasts social media channels as Ski Portillo, Chile has already received more than 13 feet of snow to launch their 75th annual season. The good news for skiers and snowboarders is that the third major snowstorm of the season hits this week with forecasters predicting as much as 110 inches of snow falling on Portillo’s slopes from the current storm cycle. The opening weekend was originally June 20 but the huge forecast has caused Portillo to delay the opening to June 26 (The season continues until Sept. 30).

Rates for Ski Weeks

Rates for Ski Portillo signature 7-day Ski Weeks begin at US$3,050 for a Valley View room (per person based on double occupancy), US$2,050 for the Octagon Lodge (based on quad occupancy), and US$1,550 for the hostel-style Inca Lodge. Other accommodations include Hotel Portillo Suites and the Chalets. Rates for ski weeks include accommodations, four meals daily (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea), lift tickets, and all the amenities of the resort.  Three-and-four-day mini-weeks are also available.
