Ski Portillo is a great place to get a jump start on the coming season. SNOW traveled to the Southern Hemisphere to look at top ski fashion trends and actually test them out on the hill.
Pro skiers demand a lot from their apparel. Of course they wan to look good, but they need to be able to move dynamically in their gear and stay warm and dry. SNOW went to the ski school instructors, who were also sample size, to see how these brands performed in action.
The group headed up Portillo’s famous va-et-vient lift to ski the Roca Jack. Nano wears a yellow jacket with black pants from Descente, Claudia is wearing a look from Toni Sailer with a visor helmet from Kask, Ann is boarding in pants and jacket from Nils, Heidi is wearing a snake skin patterned top and pant from Sportalm and Stefan is wearing a bright green jacket from Helly Hansen.
The high tech materials allow the pros to flex and move as the off piste conditions in Portillo demand. The form fitting silhouettes are great for showing off their ski technique.
