Legend meets lifestyle: Luis Trenker dedicates the new Thöni × Trenker capsule collection to an icon of alpine skiing – Gustav Thöni. It’s a tribute to style, team spirit, and Italian craftsmanship.
In collaboration with designer Gionata Malagodi, Luis Trenker has created a collection inspired by Thöni’s original 1970s ski apparel. At the heart of it: knitted sweaters, cardigans, and a modern quilted vest – filled not with down, but with soft knitted material. A special detail: knitted, sewn-in elbow patches – a nod to the protectors worn by early slalom racers.
The color palette includes light blue – the iconic blue of the Valanga Azzurra, a symbol of passion and unity – as well as navy, red, and cream white, offering a stylish take on the retro aesthetic of the 1970s.
All pieces are made in Italy, crafted from high-quality yarns with meticulous attention to detail. Distinctive stripes, sporty zippers, embossed rubber patches, and custom-designed labels give the collection its unique signature. Two accessories complete the look: a sporty leather belt and a long beanie – the classic, close-fitting ski hat of the 1970s.
The Thöni × Trenker capsule collection is available in limited quantities – a fusion of athletic nostalgia, Italian craftsmanship, and contemporary style – available now in all Luis Trenker stores and online at www.luistrenker.com.
