The Ötztal Valley: Soelden Austria & Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

Soelden Austria is in the Ötztal valley in the western Austrian state of Tyrol. It’s known for two things: the mummified corpse of “Ötzi the Iceman” at the Ötzi Village outdoor museum with a look into pre-historic Alpine life, and its ski areas at Sölden and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Sölden is the venue of the Alpine Ski World Cup and one of Europe’s most renowned ski and snowboard resorts with its marvelous BIG 3 vantage points – lookouts from the area’s three tallest mountains. Exclusive Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are right on the slopes and boast absolute snow reliability from November until late spring.
