Four Seasons Vail – Private Practice

Vail hardly lacks decadent lodging. But to tap into all the amenities of a luxury slopeside hotel with a retreat that feels like your own personal mountain address, swap your hotel key for residence access at the Four Seasons Resort & Residences, Vail, Colorado.

The property’s location at the base of the mountain in Vail Village is as central as things get in one of North America’s most legendary ski corridors. But you elevate your entourage from the hotel crowds when you book one of the nine residences here—all of which offer easy access to the hotel’s luxe amenities, including perhaps the most bend-over-backwards slopeside ski concierge in the state.private_practice_1

Until recently, the residences—each with its own fully outfitted gourmet kitchen, living room, and laundry facilities—welcomed only guests looking to purchase property at the resort. Now the less committal among us can indulge in a stay here, too

The five-bedroom, 4,400-square-foot Mount Solitude Resort Residence, which comfortably accommodates 10 people, is the Four Seasons’ most indulgent, with a large outdoor terrace overlooking the village and Vail Mountain, a game room, and a man cave. Its interiors were conceived by Vail-based Silfer Designs using a mix of faux fur touches, furnishings that reference seductive 1960s style, and a rich color palette that creates a space at once cozy and contemporary. One- to four-bedroom residences are also available for nightly or weekly rentals, including several that have just emerged from fresh renovations in time for the 2013 and 2014 season.

And while you’ll certainly be ensconced in your own little universe in the residences, you’ll want to foray over to the Four Seasons’ hotel amenities, too, including an inviting restaurant, an après-ski lounge serving bespoke cocktails, and a sumptuous spa. A ski vacation lavished on the amenities of both residences and hotel, indeed, strikes the perfect note.
