The Piz Gloria Switzerland at 9,744 feet is so high it offers a true 360-degree view of 200 summits. These famous mountains include the Monch, Jungfrau, and the infamous Eiger — as well as France’s Mont Blanc and Germany’s Black Forest. The Skyway Platform is the perfect setting to take in the views. It was the world’s first revolving restaurant on a mountain roost. When you are perched precariously on Switzerland’s Schilthorn, your view may appear familiar thanks to the Bond films. Piz Gloria was featured in 007’s Her Majesty’s Secret Service. James Bond fought an evil villain with these epic views in the background. Try the meat and cheese platters, it is a great way to sample Murren’s air-dried sausage and the region’s best cheese. Wash it down with a Swiss Rose and you have the fortitude to make it back down the mountain. If hiking isn’t your thing, feel free to ride the 32-minute aerial cablecar. In winter and early spring, the white covered mountains make you feel like you are inside a snow globe. Try some Frey Chocolate before you head back down in altitude.
