Searching for a healthful holiday? Start with the big picture: get high.

There is, almost indubitably, something healthy feeling about mountains. To be high in the Rockies or the Alps, the Sierra or the Dolomiti makes you feel good—strong, healthy… better.

There’s also something healthy feeling about getting outdoors in winter. Leaving the den, the office, and breathing air crisp and cold enough that you can see your breath—mmm… invigorating. And so it is at the Hotel Terra Jackson Hole and its perfectly named spa, Chill.

Jackson hole, Wyoming

You’re high in the Grand Tetons next door to the fabled western cowboy town of Jackson, WY. Outside the window sits one of America’s iconic ski hills, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The big, red tram glides silently by.

The hotel itself is a beautifully designed mix of rustic luxury and environmental responsibility, AAA Four Diamond luxe and LEED Silver-certified goodliness. You feel the glow of good, clean fun.

In the spa, the glow continues to warm the soul. Everything from the lotions to the lights cares for the planet as it cares for you; organic, low-impact, recycled, conserving.

Chill’s treatment rooms come with vaulted ceilings, a relaxing fireplace; a romantic couple’s suite with stunning mountain views. Want more? You have to choose—will it be the rooftop hot tub today or the infinity pool? The eucalyptus aroma’d steam room or the Sky Lounge? The fitness center or a facial?

Whichever choice you make, you can use your time in the cool pool or hot tub, inhaling steam or gazing into the fire, working out or being worked on, to plan your next day in Jackson Hole. You can spend it skiing, riding, turquoise shopping, or swing dancing at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. You can learn ice climbing at Teton Ice Park, take a snowshoe tour in Grand Teton National Park, or ogle ungulates at the National Elk Refuge. There’s also snowmobiling in Yellowstone National Park, mushing with huskies, and, for the especially brave, snow kite boarding.

Or… you could just hang around the hotel and chill.

That would be an indisputably healthful choice.
