Franz Klammer – World’s First Carver on Skis
Franz Klammer is the world’s most famous living legend of skiing. Over 40 years have passed since his famous Olympic win and he still cannot pass unrecognized, especially in Austria. Franz Klammer is a hero of the people, and with movie star good looks, he is constantly asked for his autograph and for photos. Klammer dominated World Cup Ski Racing for 4 consecutive season in the late 70’s. He won 25 downhills and 4 of his wins took place on the famous Streif of the Hannenkahm ski race course in Kitzbuhel.
